Besiktas Interested in Fortounis
Besiktas are interested in Olympiacos’ midfielder Kostas Fortounis and are willing to pay €7 Million for his transfer to Turkey.
According to Turkish press, Besiktas have shown interest in Olympiacos’ 24 year old attacking midfielder, Kostas Fortounis. The fact that Talisca, who is on a loan from Benfica, is likely to leave Besiktas this summer (has been offered better contracts) intensifies the speculations of Besiktas’ interest in the Olympiacos player.
Besiktas are willing to offer Olympiacos up to €7 million, yet that is not enough for the team from Piraeus, as they price their player much higher. This does not seem to bother Fikret Orman, the president of Besiktas, who stated that if Talisca eventually leaves the club he will personally persuade Evangelos Marinakis on the transfer of Fortounis.
However, according to the player’s interview with ERA SPOR he stated that he is satisfied at Olympiacos, but did mention that playing for a big European team is a challenge for every player. As for Besiktas’ interest, he mentioned that although the Turkish side are a very talented, he would leave Olympiakos only for the sake of a premier European club.
A reminder that Besiktas eliminated Olympiacos in this year's Europa League Round of 16 earlier this season.
