Bogris Wins Inaugural FIBA Champions League Title with Tenerife
Georgios Bogris and Tenerife were crowned champions of the inaugural FIBA Champions League after defeating Banvit 63-59 in Sunday’s final.
Georgios Bogris’ Tenerife made history on Sunday as they were crowned champions of the first ever FIBA Champions League competition after defeating Banvit 63-59 in a closely contested final on Sunday. Bogris did not have a rather exceptional game but managed to score 2 points while grabbing six rebounds.
Bogris, however, played a vital role in Tenerife's success throughout the season having been named to the competition’s Starting 5 as the best center in the FIBA Champions League. The Greek center averaged 8.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. This is Bogris’ second European Title at the club level after winning the 2011 Euroleague with Panathinaikos.
He celebrated this year’s Champions League title with with Greek flag representing Greek basketball at the highest level. Congratulations to Bogris and Tenerife!
