After joining Olympiacos in August 2016, Viana went on to make 23 appearances for the Thrylos, scoring one goal in the Super League along the way. However, having been sent on loan to Braga for the 2017/2018 season, the Portuguese team opted to sign the centre-back on a permanent basis. It’s reported that Olympiacos will receive three million euros for the deal, while Viana is rewarded with a five-year Braga contract through to 2023. Viana has impressed with Braga this campaign, playing in 28 matches and grabbing four goals.
It seems that Viana isn’t the only player about to be relieved of his Olympiacos obligations. Konstantinos Laifis, a 24-year old Cypriot defender, is currently on loan at Standard Liege and the Belgians are willing to pay 1.8 million euros for his services. Attacking Argentinian midfielder Nicolas Martinez is reportedly close to making his loan move to Apollon Limassol a permanent one, with Apollon ready to part with one million.
Leganes defender Dimitris Siovas, previously an Olympiacos player, is targeted by several clubs, but the Thrylos will receive 20% of money involved in Siovas’ next transfer deal. More cash is expected to come from young Montenegrin winger Marko Jankovic, who is playing with Partizan Belgrade however Olympiacos maintain a 50% stake in his rights.
