Specifically, the German coach is ready to name Tasos Donis to the full senior side for the first time. After impressing with his performances for Nice this season in France’s Ligue 1, Donis is reportedly going to be rewarded with inclusion into the squad for the crucial June 9th qualifier against the Bosnians.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a fine season on loan for Nice as the club performed superbly finishing 3rd in Ligue 1. Donis managed to score 5 goals in 18 appearances (mostly as a substitute). His dribbling ability and movement along with goalscoring touch has made him a highly sought player. Goals against the likes of PSG and Lyon certainly raised his profile and teams across the continent have him on their radar now.
Still owned by Juventus, it'll be interesting to see whether the Turin side look to keep the player as they do have a buyback option should Nice exercise their rights to buy the player for €2 million this summer.
Certainly, Donis’ progress and imminent call-up is good news for the Galanolefki and a positive sign that the country has the ability to produce good attacking players along with quality defenders. Donis has represented Greece before at the youth level, coming through all the youth national sides, most recently the U-19 and U-21 teams.
