Tyler Dorsey was made to wait for his NBA regular season debut, but the Hawks’ 2017 second-round draft pick finally saw game-time as he checked-in late in the fourth quarter against the Charlotte Hornets.
Dorsey’s debut came with just 2:36 remaining in the fourth quarter when he replaced Marco Belinelli with the Hawks trailing the Hornets 107-87.
With the Hawks trailing heavily, Dorsey’s debut wasn’t very memorable as the former Oregon shooting guard missed both of his three-point attempts late in the game.
Dorsey did collect a rebound, but the 21-year-old who was part of the preliminary Greece squad for this past summer’s EuroBasket before being cut will look to score the first points of his NBA career against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.
