Dorsey selected by Hawks in NBA Draft
Tyler Dorsey was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 41st overall pick in the NBA Draft.
As expected, Tyler Dorsey was selected in the second round of today’s NBA Draft. The Greece international was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks as the 41st overall pick. Dorsey is coming off of a great season in the NCAA where he led his college side, the Oregon Ducks, to this year's NCAA Final-4 where they fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
This is the second consecutive year that a Greek player has been selected in the NBA draft after Georgios Papagiannis was the highest drafted Greek player in NBA history after going 13th to the Sacramento Kings last year.
Dorsey will look to convince the Atlanta Hawks that he deserves a place on the team's roster for the new season in hopes of joining fellow Greeks Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Koufos, and Georgios Papagiannis in the NBA. The 21-year old could also be called up to the national team for the upcoming Eurobasket tournament after being cut from last year’s roster for the Rio 2016 Pre-Olympic tournament.
The Atlanta Hawks welcomed their new player via twitter.
