Ethniki lose Donis for playoffs
Tasos Donis suffered a shoulder injury in training on Wednesday and has been ruled out for 5-6 weeks, meaning he will be unavailable for Greece’s World Cup qualifying playoffs against Croatia.
The Stuttgart player, who scored over the weekend in the Bundesliga, came down hard on his shoulder in Wednesday’s training session and walked off with a serious injury. Stuttgart’s medical team concluded that Donis will avoid surgery, but will need 5-6 weeks to recover from the shoulder injury.
This means that Donis will miss both legs of Greece’s World Cup qualifying playoff against Croatia on November 9th and 12th, which are three weeks away. Donis’ injury comes after Manolas suffered a Grade 1 muscle strain last week with Roma, an injury that has made the Greek defender doubtful for the matches against Croatia.
