The Greek National Water Polo team defeated France 4-10 in their final World League fixture, but were eliminated after Croatia defeated the Netherlands in the group's other fixture.

Greece exited this year's FINA World League on a positive note as they defeated France 4-10 in the final group match. The Galanolefki needed a slip up from Croatia in the group’s other fixture, however the Croatians easily defeated the Netherlands 17-7 to finish first in the group.

Both Greece and Croatia finished group play with a 5-1 record (15 points), however Croatia held the head-to-head advantage having defeated Greece 11-6 in Croatia while falling 10-8 in the return fixture in Greece. Croatia will compete in the World league Super Final in Russia over the summer.

Last year, Greece qualified for the FINA World League Super Final, claiming the bronze medal in the competition.

In today’s match, the French took an early 2-1 lead, however a 4-0 run from the Greek side put them in control of the game. In the second half, Greece comfortably held on to their advantage and celebrated a rather easy 4-10 victory. Fountoulis led Greece with 3 goals.
