Greece U17 qualify for next round in style
EURO 2018 QUALIFYING ROUND - MATCHDAY 2
|Greece U17||6 - 0||Gibraltar U17|
The Greek U17 national team secured their place in the next round of UEFA Euro 2018 qualifying with an emphatic 6-0 win over Gibraltar.
As expected, the Greek U17 national team had an easy task against a weak Gibraltar side on Saturday in Euro 2018 qualifying, thrashing their opponents 6-0. The result moves Greece up to six points from two matches, after defeating Norway on matchday 1, and secures the Ethniki Paidon a place in the next round of Euro 2018 qualifying.
By the 15th minute mark, Greece were ahead 2-0 with two goals from Vrakas before Tzimas added a third goal before the halftime break (37). It was the Tzimas show in the second half as the youngster netted three goals within 30 minutes (45, 63, 74) to cap off an emphatic 6-0 victory for the Galanolefki.
Greece will matchup against group leaders Serbia on Tuesday for first place bragging rights in Group 5. Like Greece, Serbia have won both of their matches in group play (defeated Norway 2-1 on Saturday), but sit ahead of Greece on goal differential after their 7-0 win over Gibraltar.
