Greece’s UEFA Nations League journey begins in Tallinn
Greece will begin their journey in the UEFA Nations League in Tallinn against Estonia on September 8th and will conclude against the same team on November 18th in Greece.
Shortly after the UEFA Nations League draw, UEFA announced the official schedule for the first edition of the competition. Greece were drawn into Group B of League C and will matchup against Hungary, Finland, and Estonia in home/away fixtures against each team, totaling six matches.
Greece’s first match will be held on September 8th away to Estonia and a few days later, the Ethniki will travel to Budapest to play Hungary. On October 12th, Greece will host Hungary before playing two fixtures against Finland (first away and them at home). Greece’s UEFA Nations League campaign will conclude on November 18th at the Karaiskakis stadium against Estonia with hopes of securing first place in the group. Top spot in the group leads to promotion to League B for the 2020/21 UEFA Nations league and a place in the EURO 2020 qualifying playoffs (a second chance opportunity for teams that do not qualify for EURO 2020 via the actual qualifying process).
