Greek Players and Fans Celebrate as One
Despite Lukaku’s late goal that denied Greece a victory in Belgium, our National Team earned a valuable point against the group leaders and the players and Greek fans celebrating as one after the game.
Roughly 4,000 Greek fans attended the King Baudouin Stadium to support Greece’s efforts in Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Belgium. The Greek supporters, organized by the Greece’s official fan club the Galanolefkos Faros, had a strong presence at the stadium, chanting “Ellas Ole” for the 90 minutes of play as they cheered on the Ethniki.
After the final whistle, the Greek players and coaching staff rushed to the stands to thank and celebrate the result with the 4,000 Greek fans. The players and fans did the established “Ole” making for beautiful scenes in Brussels.
