AGONAsport’s George Tsitsonis rounds up the performances of Greeks playing in other leagues in this week’s Greeks Abroad Review.

Watch the first leg of the World Cup qualifying playoffs between Croatia and Greece LIVE from AGONAsport on Thursday, November 9th. Details here...

It was only fitting in a week where Greece’s World Cup destiny will be decided, that several national team members fared well with their clubs across Europe. The highlights of the weekend had goals scored by a few of the national team’s main men. Kostas Mitroglou scored his second Ligue 1 goal in Marseille’s big win. Kostas Manolas showed he is ready to face the Croatians, albeit in the second leg after FIFA controversially banned him, by scoring the eventual game-winner in Roma’s 4-2 victory over Fiorentina. Andreas Samaris notched his first goal of the season as a substitute for Benfica.

Giannis Maniatis had a quickfire assist after coming on for his side in Turkey and former national teamer Jose Holebas set up a goal for Watford. Greek fans held their breath as Sokratis Papastathopoulos went off injured in the derby defeat to Bayern Munich. Below is a player-by-player breakdown of some notable Greeks and their performances abroad this weekend.
