It was a weekend of ups and downs for Greeks playing abroad. Injuries and suspensions meant that national team players such as Kostas Manolas, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Tasos Donis, and Giorgos Tzavellas did not feature.

Kostas Mitroglou played for 66 minutes in the derby between Marseille and PSG that finished 2-2 though he put in a mediocre performance. Some bad news could be found when talking about Vasilis Torosidis who limped off after 25 minutes putting his participation in the national team’s playoff matches against Croatia in doubt.

The bright side saw Panagiotis Retsos come up with another solid display, while Stefanos Athanasiadis scored his first goal in nearly a year and first since beginning play in Israel. Dimitris Siovas also continued his recent good form by leading Leganes to another win. Below is an itemized look at how a wide array of Greeks abroad fared over the weekend.
