According to information published on the club’s official website, the 27-year old Swede has joined AEK on a 2.5 year contract and will wear the number 23. The transfer fee between Panathinaikos and AEK was not mentioned. Following the announcement, Hult spoke to the media about his goals with the Enosis. “I am coming here to help the team as much as possible,” stated Hult. “We’re in a good position now, and I want to help the club have a good end to the season. My goal is to get better and better here.”

When asked about how he got to sign for AEK from Panathinaikos, Hult declined to give a straight answer: “I am here right now, the story is that I’m happy to be here.” Hult revealed that despite not playing in official matches for a month, he is in good shape and prepared to assist AEK in all competitions. “I haven’t played for almost a month, but I have been training almost every day in Sweden. I feel fit,” said the Swedish defender. “My family are happy here, so I think it’s the best option for me to stay in Greece.”

Hult started his Greek journey in June 2016, putting pen to paper on a three year deal with Panathinaikos. He made 42 Super League appearances with the Greens, becoming a key member of the team’s set-up. However, recently, it was reported that he took legal action against Panathinaikos because of not receiving his monthly wages. Eventually, the club’s financial problems forced Hult out of the club.

Previously in his career, Hult has played for IFK Varnamo, Elfsborg and Nice. Hult is a Swedish international, playing in six matches for his country. Alongside being a defender, Hult possesses the capability to play higher up the pitch on the left flank.
