One thing’s for sure - Platanias are resigned to their fate and are certain to be relegated to the Football League. The Chania club have endured a simply terrible campaign in this year’s Super League, losing an incredible 21 out of 27 fixtures and picking up just two victories. Financial troubles and a huge squad overhaul took their toll on Platanias, who must now begin to prepare for life in the second tier.

However, it’s not yet certain who will join Platanias in the Football League. At the moment, AOK Kerkyra are set to become the second team relegated, currently five points from safety in 15th place of the table. Nevertheless, they do harbour hope of somehow catching Lamia and Apollon Smyrnis, clubs which both have 26 points compared to Kerkyra’s 21, in the final three fixtures. AEL boast 29 points and appear to be safe.

Current Super League standings between 12th and 15th place:

12. AEL, 29 points
