-- "Gela" for an Awful Olympiacos --
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 12
|Olympiacos||0 - 0||Kerkyra|
Olympiacos dropped points at home to Kerkyra after the two teams played to a goalless draw. It was an awful showing for the hosts who failed to win at home for the first time in 39 games!
Olympiacos put on one of the worst performances of the season as they hosted Kerkyra at the Karaiskaki Stadium for the 12th Matchday of the Greek Superleague. The Erythrolefki DID NOT create a single good chance on goal during the 90-minutes of play against a very tactical Kerkyra side. The best chance of the match fell to the visitors in the 51st minute when Thuram was in on goal, but was denied by Leali. The final whistle was accompanied by an expression of dissatisfaction from the home supporters as the players were booed off the pitch.
The fans also chanted Chori Dominguez’s name, who was left out of the roster for yet another game. In a season with matches for the Greek SuperLeague, Greek Cup, and Europa League, Dominguez is a valuable option in the Olympiacos lineup especially in fixtures against weaker teams in the league play.
The draw ends Olympiacos’ impressive 39-game winning streak at home. The Greek Champions now only sit 5-points ahead of second placed PAS Giannina and will await Panathinaikos’ result in Nea Smyrni later in the day.
