Kokkalanis Wins Silver at European Championships
Byron Kokkalanis earned the silver medal at the RS:X Windsurfing European Championships in Marseille.
The Greek windsurfer got off to a great start to the 2017 season after claiming second place and the silver at the RS:X Windsurfing European Championships in Marseille. Kokkalanis, who finished 5th at the Olympic Games in Brazil, finished the competition with 91.50 point deductions, only behind gold medalist Louis Giard of France with 64.50 point deductions.
In addition, Leonidas Tsortanidis claimed third place and the bronze medal in the in U17 category.
Olympic bronze medalists, Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis finished in 5th place of the 470 category while Yiannis Orfanos and Vasilis Poupoutsoglou claimed seventh place in the same category.
In the Men’s FINN category, Giannis Mitakis finished in eighth place.
