Kolovetsios signs with Panathinaikos
On Monday, Panathinaikos completed their second signing of the summer after Dimitris Kolovetsios signed a 2-year deal with the club.
As expected, Dimitris Kolovetsios will wear the green jersey of Panathinaikos for the next two seasons after signing a 2-year contract with the club. The central defender, who has played at AEK since 2014, did not renew his contract with the Kitrinomavri and made a move to city rivals Panathinaikos on a free-transfer.
Kolovetsios is the Trifylli’s second signing of the summer after Omri Altman was announced by the club on Saturday. The 26-year old will join the team in pre-season training and will be the fourth centreback in the roster along with Moledo, Koutroubis, and Evaggelou.
Kolovetsios began his professional career with Larissa in 2009 and after a three-year stay with the club he moved on to PAS Giannina where he remained until 2014. He then made the big career jump to AEK where he played for three seasons until the end of his contract. In total, he has made 128 appearances in the Greek Superleague.
Panathinaikos have also begun their search for Marcus Berg’s replacement with Nikolas Stojilkovic looking to be high on the club’s list. The 24-year old striker plays for Portuguese side Sporting Braga and is a Serbian international. Last season, he made 24 appearances for the Portuguese club and scored five goals, helping his team to fifth place league finish and a ticket to this year's Europa League.
Finally, M'Poku will continue his career in Belgium with Standard Liege after signing a deal with the club. M'Poku played this past season on loan at Panathinaikos and although the Prasini wanted to sign 25-year old, he ended up returning to Standard Liege.
