Kolovos returns after seven month injury
Dimitris Kolovos returned for Mechelen after a seven month absence due to injury.
The Greek player returned for the Belgian club a few days ago making an appearance in a friendly match against Dudelange on Friday. The 24-year old was subbed on in the 70th minute and showed that he has overcome his ACL injury that left him sidelined since February.
Kolovos tore his ACL for the second time in his career during last year’s league fixture against Lokeren. The injury came at an unfortunate time in his career as he was in great form and was expected to receive a call up to the Greek national team. The midfielder was a key player last year for his club and his quick return will not only help Mechelen, but will provide Michael Skibbe with a valuable option in the Greek squad.
Kolovos thanked everyone that helped him in his recovery process via an Instagram post and promised that he will continue to work hard and return even stronger.
