Lamia thump Tripolis to chalk up first top flight win
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 3
|Asteras Tripolis||1 - 3||Lamia|
SuperLeague newboys Lamia recorded their first win of the season at the third attempt on Saturday as the Thessaly club defeated Asteras Tripolis 3-1 away from home thanks to an impressive display.
The Kyanoleykoi dominated proceedings and were two goals up by half-time courtesy of goals from Nigerian midfielder Suleiman Omo after six minutes and Spanish forward Piti in the 25th minute.
Babis Tennes’ Lamia side showed no signs of letting the struggling hosts in the match and Brazilian attacking midfielder Wanderson added a third 10 minute from time to end the game as a contest.
There was a late rally from Tripolis which yielded a consolation goal from defender Triantafyllos Pasalidis, but it was too little too late and Lamia comfortably celebrated their first league win of their first-ever season in the top flight.
