Lamprou scores twice in large Fortuna Sittard victory
Lazaros Lamprou took a leading role for Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie, scoring twice in a 4:1 victory against Excelsior at home.
His first goal was a stunner. On the left flank, Lamprou cut sharply towards the middle, unleashing a wonderful, looping effort beyond the stranded Excelsior goalkeeper within 13 minutes of play.
The talented 21-year-old doubled his tally 20 minutes later in equally impressive fashion. Pouncing upon a stray Excelsior pass, Lamprou moved into the penalty area, beat his opponent with silky skill and slotted a low attempt into the right corner.
Lamprou was eventually taken off after 83 minutes as Fortuna Sittard earned a confident 4:1 victory.
After 21 rounds, Fortuna Sittard occupy ninth place of the Eredivisie table, boasting 26 points. On loan from PAOK, youth Greek international Lamprou has now scored five goals and dished out four assists in 13 league appearances.
