Larissa edge away from trouble with win over Apollon Smyrnis
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 11
|Larissa||1 - 0||Apollon Smyrnis|
Larissa’s recent run of good form continued on Saturday with a slender 1-0 home win over Apollon Smyrni in a closely-contested Matchday 11 SuperLeague clash at the AEL FC Arena, while Lamia were held 1-1 at home by battling Kerkyra, who ended the game with nine players.
Serbian forward Miloš Deletić scored the only goal of the game four minutes from full-time to clinch three vital points for Ilias Fytanidis’ side and send the home fans home in jubilant mood.
The result moved the Vissini, who are unbeaten since a 2-1 Matchday 7 loss to Panathinaikos, up to 11th place in the standings with 13 points after 11 matches, while Apollon remain 13th with 10 points.
Nine-man Kerkyra hold Lamia

Two dismissals could not stop a determined Kerkyra team from claiming a hard-earned point at Lamia in an ill-tempered match which ended 1-1.
Lamia, who are unbeaten since Matchday 7, fell behind to Giorgos Pamlidis’ early sixth-minute goal for the visitors, who began brightly at the Lamia Municipal Stadium.
But the home side pulled a goal back from the penalty spot through Spanish forward Piti on the stroke of half-time. Several minutes of madness followed from the visitors as defender Aristidis Soiledis and midfielder Sotiris Balafas were both sent off in added time before the half-time whistle for picking up second yellow cards.
Lamia proceeded to lay siege to the visitors’ goal in the second half but couldn’t find a way through, and had to settle for a point which moved them from 12th to eighth spot.
