Aris salvaged the three points with a late penalty away to Veria while OFI cruised past Karaiskakis in Irakleio, taking advantage of Panachaiki’s goalless draw away to Sparti. Ergotelis recorded a big road win over Panserraikos in their fight for safety.
An 89th minute penalty from Pasas was enough to give Aris a nail-biting 0:1 victory on the road against Veria. The visitors were reduced to 10-men in the 73rd minute after Kantimiris picked up his second yellow card, but Damianakis’ offense inside the penalty area in the 88th minute (which resulted in a penalty) also saw him depart earlier with a second yellow card. The result keeps Aris atop the league standings as they increased their lead to three points over second placed Panachaiki.
Panachaiki hit a roadblock in Sparti as they played to a goalless draw with the Lakones. The Patra side, who were on a four game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last 9 league fixtures, continue to sit in second spot with 33 points, three points behind the leaders Aris. OFI are close behind in third with 30 points.
OFI pulled within three points of Panachaiki after cruising to a 3:0 victory over Karaiskakis in Irakleio. The Cretan side netted three goals for a third straight home game with Vouho (9), Koutsianikoulis (33), and Manos (74) found the back of the net for the hosts.
Ergotelis picked up a massive 0:1 win on the road against Panserraikos to boost their hopes for safety. Midtable Anagennisi Karditsas and Apollon Larisas defeated Kallithea (2:1) and Paneglios (0:1), respectively while Apollon Pontou’s final hopes for promotion took a major hit after a 0:1 home loss to AOX Kissamikos. Trikala failed to return to winning ways after a goalless draw away to Aiginiakos as they drift away from the fight for promotion.
Doxa Dramas were awarded all three points against Acharnaikos, who have withdrawn from the league.
