Levadiakos Edge Closer to Safety
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 26

Levadiakos took a vital step towards securing their top flight status for next season after claiming a narrow 2-1 home win over basement club Veria in a tense relegation showdown on Saturday.
Portuguese defender Carlos Milhazes opened the scoring for the home side in the 55th minute but the visitors got themselves right back into the match via Pantelis Kapetanos’ 71st-minute equaliser.
The game opened up after that strike as both teams chased a winner while also showing signs of tiredness. Thankfully for the home fans nerves, it was their side who got the next goal with Stelios Vasiliou on target just six minutes later.
Levadiakos then killed off Veria with a late third goal through Petros Giakoumakis in the second minute of added time to secure a win which moves the Livadeia outfit six points clear of the relegation zone.
Veria have an almost impossible task in order to avoid the drop as they are six points adrift of safety with just four matches to play.
