Long lay-off for Olympiacos’ Tillie
The French forward is set for a long stint on the sidelines following a devastating injury on Thursday night…
Olympiacos big summer signing, Kim Tillie, is set to miss the next four months after an injury he suffered on Thursday night was determined to require surgery.
Tillie was just moments away from making his EuroLeague debut for Olympiacos after making the move to Piraeus from Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz this past summer.
Incidentally, Tillie was warming up for Olympiacos’ EuroLeague opener against Baskonia in Heraklion when he injured his leg.
An MRI on Friday revealed a detached tendon that will require surgery to repair. Tillie is now expected to a minimum of four months, which makes for a major headache for Olympiacos coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos.
After soaring on the EuroLeague scene two seasons ago with Baskonia, Tillie played an important role in Baskonia’s resurgence in recent years. The French forward holds an average of 6.2 points and 4 rebounds in his three-year EuroLeague career.
