Lopes signs with AEK
AEK completed their first signing of the summer with left-back Helder Lopes.
As expected, Helder Lopes is AEK’s first signing this summer with the left-back putting pen to paper on a 2-year deal with the Enosis. The 29-year old will join AEK on a free transfer from Las Palmas after not renewing his contract with the Spanish club.
Lopes will likely replace Didac’s spot in AEK’s backline as the Spaniard is rumored to be close to a deal with Espanyol. Lopes is coming off of a season in the Spanish la Liga where he made 17 appearances (15 in the league, 2 in the cup) and recorded 1 assist. Lopes was on AEK’s radar last season as well, but Las Palmas signed the player before the Kitrinomavri could act.
After signing the player stated “I feel very happy that I have come to such a big club. For every football player, it is very important to sign with a big teal, like AEK.”
