The final day of the 2016/17 Greek SuperLeague campaign is slated for Sunday as Matchday 30 closes out the season. It will be a fairly anti-climactic final day as the key races in the league were decided on the all-important Matchday 29. It was then when the title was decided along with the qualifiers for the playoffs and the second team to be relegated.

This weekend the focus on many clubs will be clinching as high a position in the table as possible and for the playoff sides to head into the postseason with some momentum.

Champions-elect Olympiacos finish off a tumultuous campaign with  a trip to Panetolikos. It will be a bittersweet ending of the season as Olympiacos travel to Agrinio to take on Panetolikos. Takis Lemonis’ side managed to wrap up their 7th consecutive Greek SuperLeague title last weekend. However, those celebrations were offset by an exit in the Greek Cup semifinals to AEK despite a second leg win (1-0) on Wednesday.

PAOK, second in the league regardless of results this weekend, welcome Kerkyra to Toumba for the finale. PAOK will go into Sunday’s match on a high after defeating Panathinaikos 4-0 on Thursday and advancing to the Greek Cup Final.

Panathinaikos take on Larisa at home, while fellow playoff participants, AEK, are away to PAS Giannina. Panathinaikos will still be smarting from that defeat to PAOK, but must now refocus on the upcoming playoffs. Larisa will feel massive relief from having clinched their survival just last week.

AEK will go to Giannina in positive mood after securing their place in the Greek Cup Final this midweek. Despite a defeat to Olympiacos, Manolo Jimenez and company rode the 2-0 first leg score to a place in the final of the competition for the second year in a row. For PAS, this will be the end of a marathon season that began early last July with Europa League qualifiers.

Elsewhere, Asteras Tripolis and Iraklis, who both clinched safety last round, meet up in Tripoli while Platanias and Atromitos meet up at the latter’s home ground. The two relegated sides play their last top-flight match before heading down to the Football League. Veria makes the trip north to Xanthi, while Levadiakos are away to playoff-bound Panionios
