“Lymbe” returns to AEK
Nikos Lymberopoulos has returned to AEK and will be the club’s technical director, replacing Daniel Majstorovic.
Nikos Lymberopoulos has returned to AEK for the fourth time and his second as the club’s technical director. The former AEK player will take over the technical director’s position, replacing Daniel Majstorovic who resigned from his post last week. Lymberopoulos recently resigned from the technical director’s position at Panathinaikos and was regarded by the fans as one of the few people keeping the club “together” during a problematic summer and season.
Lymberopoulos is a former player of AEK enjoying spells with the club from 2003-2008 and 2010-2012. After retiring, he became the technical director of AEK in 2013 with hopes of helping the club return to the SuperLeague after the Kitrinomavri were demoted down to the Greek third division. Lymberopoulos remained AEK’s technical director for one season until 2014.
Melissanidis has put his full trust in Lymberopoulos and sees the former Greece international as the ideal replacement for Daniel Majstorovic.
