Manolas Signs New Roma Deal
Greek international defender Kostas Manolas has put pen to paper to a new contract extension with Roma. The 26-year-old center-back was rumored to be in talks with the Italian capital city club as reported by AGONAsport a few days ago.
Over the weekend, it was confirmed that Manolas and the Giallorossi had agreed terms on a deal that would see him remain in Rome until 2022, extending his previous contract by three additional seasons.
Italian media suggest that Manolas’ yearly salary will be at least €3 million along with bonuses. The player’s buyout clause is also reported to be in the region of €35 million.
In an official statement after the signing, Manolas spoke about his new deal:
“I am very happy to be extending my contract with Roma. I wanted to stay, Roma wanted me too and thus we reached an agreement. I am ready to do the best I can for the team. I want to win a title with this team.”
The club issued an official statement as well following the agreement:
Roma is in the welcome position to announce the renewal of the contract of Kostas Manolas until June 30, 2022. The Greek defender, born in 1991, joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2014 and has recorded 144 appearances and four goals.”
