Mbokani fails necessary medical tests
Dieumerci Mbokani failed to pass the necessary medical tests and will not sign with Olympiacos. The club will now turn to other options.
The 31-year old forward who set foot in Greece on Monday to sign with the Erythrolefki, has failed the necessary medical tests that were conducted earlier today. According to sportfm.gr, his results were not satisfying and now the Peiraiotes will now turn to other options to reinforce their attacking line.
The problem had to do with his joints, specifically in his knee, and also in certain muscles. Olympiacos’ medical team concluded that these results could pose a big risk during the season as these problems, which left him out many times last season at Hull City, could be a reoccurring again this year. Although Olympiacos had been assured by the player’s side that there were no medical issues regarding his health condition, this proved to be false after the tests.
Olympiacos will now turn to other options to reinforce their attacking line. This will be a high priority in the coming days as the roster only contains one forward, Karim Ansarifard (Cardozo will not be continuing at Olympiacos) with pre-season training underway at Seefeld.
