Mechelen Sign Kolovos from Olympiacos
Mechelen announced the signing of Dimitris Kolovos from Olympiacos.
Dimitris Kolovos, who was on loan at Mechelen from Olympiacos, had a great season in Belgium before suffering an unfortunate ACL injury that left him out for the rest of the year. Despite the injury, the Belgian club foresee a bright future for the 24-year old and decided to officially sign the player with an official transfer.
According to sportfm.gr, Mechelen paid Olympiacos a €800,000 transfer fee for the Greek player and Kolovos signed a 3-year deal until 2020.
The 24-year old was a key player for the Belgian club in the first part of the season and before suffering his injury he managed to make 27 appearances while scoring 6 goals. He was also considered a sure call-up to the National Team for Greece’s qualifier against Belgium, however the ACL injury left him sidelined.
After signing his 3-year deal, Kolovos stated “The support I received here has been truly unbelievable.”
