Mitroglou doubtful for Belgium, Injury for K. Papadopoulos
According to sportfm.gr, Kostas Mitroglou has been ruled doubtful for Greece’s all-important qualifier against Belgium on Sunday.
On Thursday, Greece played to a goalless draw with Estonia in what was a horrendous offensive display from the national team. The Ethniki were without their star striker Kostas Mitroglou due to an injury and according to sportfm, it looks as if Mitroglou will be unavailable for Sunday’s qualifier against Belgium. The former Benfica player (signed with Marseille), who scored against the Red Devils in Brussels in March, will join the team for training and in the next few days, his availability will be determined.
Kyriakos Papadopoulos is also doubtful for Sunday’s matchup after suffering an injury against Estonia. The Hamburg man was subbed off in Thursday's’ qualifier and will undergo medical tests to see the extent of his injury. However, Sokratis Papastathopoulos will return to Greece’s starting XI after serving a one match suspension on Thursday due to accumulated yellow cards in the qualifying campaign.
A reminder that Greece captain Vassilis Torosis, who missed Thursday’s qualifier, will not be fit in time for Sunday’s clash.
