Mitroglou Leading Benfica to Portuguese Title
Kostas Mitroglou scored the only goal of the game in Benfica’s 0-1 win on the road against Moreirense, keeping his side one point ahead of Porto atop the league standings.
Kostas Mitroglou struck again for Benfica leading his side to a 0-1 victory over Moreirense in Portuguese Primeira Liga action on Sunday. The Greek striker headed home Pizzi’s free-kick in the 42nd minute, recording his 26th goal of the season, a new career high for Mitroglou.
The 29-year old’s header separated the sides at the final whistle giving Benfica a valuable three points in the league title race. The result keeps the Eagles one point ahead of second placed Porto at the top of the standings with 6 games left to play.
