Panathinaikos will be without their key defender for the next month after Rodrigo Moledo dislocated his shoulder (fortunately avoided a fracture) in Sunday’s Superleague fixture against Platanias. The injury will leave the 29-year old sidelined for Thursday’s Europa League clash against Bilbao and next weekend’ Superleague fixtures. The international break will follow and his condition will be reevaluated as to when he can make a comeback on the pitch.

In off the pitch news, FC Copenhagen have put in an official offer for Panathinaikos captain Carlos Zeca. According to, the Danish side offered the Prasini €1.5 million for the player’s move to Denmark, however Panathinaikos price the player at a minimum €3.5 million, thus triggering a negative response from the Greek side.

Defender Dimitris Kourbelis has also caught the eye of many teams in Europe, however the player wishes to remain in Greece with Panathinaikos. The club also do not have any intentions of selling the player this summer.

According to the newspaper Prasini, the Athenian club are close to signing Emanuel Insua on a loan deal from Udinese. The two teams have agreed on a one year loan deal for the player, with a buy-out option, and all that remains is for Panathinaikos and Insua to agree to terms. The 26-year old left back is a personal selection of coach Marinos Ouzounidis and if all goes well, he will join the Greek club.

Finally, Fanis Tzandaris will sign with Panathinaikos on Monday as he successfully passed his medical tests over the weekend.
