Rodrigo Moledo, whose name has been linked to numerous transfer rumors during the summer, has reached a deal with Panathinaikos for his contract renewal. The first rumours for an apparent departure were reported when the player did not join the team for the final match of the Superleague playoffs against PAOK in Touba.
Although the player apologized to both Lymberopoulos and Ouzounidis following the incident, numerous scenarios linked the player to a possible transfer to either Turkish club Besiktas or Brazilian club Internacional. However, none of the offers from these clubs met Panathinaikos’ demands.
A few days ago, Moledo had a private talk with coach Ouzounidis who seems to have convinced the player to renew his contract with the Prasini, seeing that the club have already lost a key player from last season, Marcus Berg. According to sources, Moledo will sign a new contract until 2020 which will include a pay raise. This of course is great news for Panathinaikos as Moledo has proven to be the backbone in the team's’ defense.
Dimitris Kolovetsios will be Panathinaikos’ second signing of the summer and will enhance the team’s defensive line. The former AEK player has already passed the medical tests and is expected to sign his contract within the day.
Finally, Paul Jose M’Poku will return to Standard Liege as the Belgian side have reached a deal with Chievo Verona and the player. M’Poku, who played on loan at Panathinaikos this season, will return to Standard Liege after a 2.5 year absence and will sign a 5-year contract with the club.
