A double from young Serbian striker Uros Durdevic (68, 90+2) sealed victory in the second leg match and completed a 4-0 aggregate success for Olympiacos, as they progressed from the Round of 16 with consummate ease.
New signing Kevin Mirallas, who is back in Piraeus for a second stint with the club after joining from Everton, played 85 minutes with Olympiacos impressing overall playing in a 4-4-2 formation.
Granted it was an easy first assignment for Olympiacos’ new Spanish coach, who was appointed last Friday, against the SuperLeague’s bottom club, but the 44-year-old was pleased with the passing and creativity on display from his new charges.
“ I’d like to say a huge thanks to the supporters who turned out for today’s game despite the fact that it was played in the early afternoon; I’m very happy to have got a victory for my first game in the dugout here,” said Garcia afterwards.
