Olympiacos will face Croatian champions Rijeka in the Champions League playoff qualifying round. The first game will be in Greece on August 15/16 and the return leg will be in Croatia on August 22/23.
Olympiacos were drawn with Croatian champions Rijeka in the Champions League playoff qualifying round in Friday’s draw in Nyon. Although the Greek side will have to travel to another intimidating stadium, the Erythrolefki will be the clear favorites to advance to the group stages of the Champions League.
Rijeka won the Croatian double last season and were crowned league champions for the first time in the club’s history. They began their Champions League qualifying campaign in the 2nd round where they knocked out The New Saints of Wales (2-0 and 1-5) before shocking Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in the third qualifying round by advancing on away goals after two draws (0-0 and 1-1).
The first game will be on August 15 or 16 in Greece and the return leg will be in Croatia on August 22 or 23.
Cypriot champions APOEL were drawn with Slavia Prague.
