Olympiacos enhancements will come after August 22
Olympiacos have turned their full focus on their opening match in the Greek SuperLeague against Larissa and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League group stages and thus, will pursue further roster enhancements after August 22.
Olympiacos will take a slight 2-1 advantage over Rijeka when they travel to Croatia for their second leg encounter against the Croatian champions in the UEFA Champions League Playoff qualifying round. Despite the narrow victory, the Erythrolefki dominated the first leg at the Karaiskakis stadium and will be the clear favorites to qualify for the group stages of the competition after a one year absence. The second leg will take place on Tuesday, August 22.
Before their important qualifier, Olympiacos will begin their Superleague campaign against Larissa in Piraeus on Saturday. The club has turned all their attention on a good start in the league and to complete the job against Rijeka on Tuesday before making any other additions to the roster this summer.
If all goes to plan against Rijeka, Olympiacos will have secured an amount over €30 million and enhancements will be expected by the fans. The Superleague champions will look to surely sign an additional center back, another striker, and possibly a winger. Recent reports out of Serbia state that the Erythrolefki are interested in Partizan’s striker Nenad Dordevic.
Finally, Spyros Risvanis, who signed with the club earlier this summer, is close to a loan deal with Atromitos for the upcoming season.
