Olympiacos were dealt another huge blow following news that Dimitris Agravanis will be shut down for the season after suffering a rupture of his ACL.
Olympiacos revealed the news via the club’s official website, while further reports have indicated that Agravanis faces up to a nine-month layoff as he begins recovering from the injury that has already kept him out action since December 3.
Injuries have plagued Olympiacos this season with team captain, Vasilis Spanoulis, only recently returning from an injury that forced him to miss the first two-and-half months of the season.
Meanwhile, summer-signing Kim Tillie remains sidelined with an injury he picked up in October.
With Georgios Printezis and Kyle Wiltjer the only healthy forwards remaining available for Olympiacos coach Yiannis Sfairopoulos, it is expected the club will made a mid-season signing to cover for the loss of Agravanis as Olympiacos look to contest for a domestic double and a deep run in the EuroLeague.
