As previously reported by AGONAsport, Fetfatzidis has been linked with a move back to Olympiacos and the two sides are close to reaching a deal. According to SportFM, Pedro Martins gave the green light to proceed with the signing and all looks as if the 27-year old will once again wear the red and white jersey.
Fetfatzidis was recently released by Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia, where he played his football since 2015. There, he earned over 1 million Euros per year and is expected to take a massive pay cut (about half of his previous salary) to join Olympiacos. The Piraeus club are looking to build a Greek core in the roster and signing Fetfatzidis, who grew up in the club’s academies, will hope to take a leading role at the club in his return to European football. The winger will also look to gain the trust of national team coach Michael Skibbe and re-earn a call-up to the Ethniki.
Recent reports in Greece and France are linking Renne’s midfielder Sanjin Prcić with a move to Piraeus. The French-Bosnian midfielder is looked as a player that can make a difference in the midfield and the Erythrolefki are in a bidding war with team’s from stronger leagues to acquire the 24-year old (ex. Valencia). Olympiacos look to have made Prcic the best offer and the player could be traveling to Greece for final negotiations and medical tests in the coming days. Prcic, who made 19 appearances in France this season, was released by Rennes after not reaching a deal for a contract extension.
Olympiacos appear to be giving it their all to sign former Panathinaikos defender, Rodrigo Moledo. Internacional’s tough stance continues to be a barrier for the signing, however, if all goes to plan, Olympiacos could secure the transfer in the coming days.
The Erythrolefki are also interested in signing another former Panathinaikos defender, Stefanos Evangelou. The youngster was released by Panathinaikos at the end of the season and is a free agent to sign with whatever club he chooses. Reports from Greece state that Olympiacos are favorites to sign the young defender.
