Olympiacos still offering admirable support to Mandra one month later
A month on from the tragic flooding in Mandra, Greek champions Olympiacos are still offering relentless support to the region’s citizens. In statements published on their official website, Olympiacos outlined the help which the club are giving.
Ever since the floods caused such devastating damage to Mandra, the Thrylos have been in the area assisting locals to somehow recover from the tragedy which killed around 23 innocent lives. Recently on AGONAsport, Olympiacos’ admirable support was documented.
Under president Evangelos Marinakis’ initiative, Olympiacos representatives are in Mandra doing everything possible to make sure that the area eventually recovers. At the moment, machinery provided by the Erythrolefkoi are creating foundations for a 3 metre high concrete wall to be constructed by the affected municipal cinema, while mud is constantly being cleared from the roads and houses. Young school students were also gifted special Olympiacos sporting gear.
Marinakis is certainly a man of his word in this aspect, sticking to his promise of the entire Olympiacos organisation addressing the problem in the Attica region. Without doubt, it’s something which deserves plaudits from the Greek footballing community.
