Greek Champions Panathinaikos are back in the EuroLeague playoffs after a landslide 91-71 win over Crvena Zvezda at the OAKA on Tuesday night.

Panathinaikos became the fifth team to clinch their playoff fate with the Trifylli recording back-to-back wins in the EuroLeague for the first time since January.

Nikos Calathes notched yet another double-double as he scored 17 points in addition to his 10 assists, but it was Chris Singleton who led Panathinaikos’ scorers with 21 points on the night.

Crvena Zvezda, who travelled to Athens with a handful of regulars out due to injury, were led by Dejan Davidovac’s 17 points; however, the Serbian giants couldn’t match Panathinaikos’ scoring efficiency.

Panathinaikos, who needed a fourth quarter comeback to defeat Unicaja Malaga on Friday, started quickly against Crvena Zvezda on this night as the Trifylli surged to a 9-point lead (24-15) in the first quarter.

Holding their 9-point lead heading into halftime (47-38), Panathinaikos used another dominant performance in the third quarter to pull-away for good as Xavi Pascual’s men carved out a 30-18 run in the third frame.

A low scoring final frame in Athens saw Panathinaikos’ hefty fourth quarter lead remain unthreatened as Panathinaikos notched their second-biggest margin of victory this season.

Panathinaikos return to EuroLeague action on Thursday when they visit Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in Israel, while Crvena Zvezda take on Fenerbahce in Belgrade.
