Panathinaikos’ difficult schedule begins this weekend
Panathinaikos have a tough schedule ahead beginning with Saturday's derby against Olympiacos.
It has been a difficult start to the season for Panathinaikos both on and off the pitch with the club facing major financial problems while sitting 7th in the Superleague standings with 10 points from eight games (began the season at -2). The Trifylli’s low placement comes without having played a derby to date in league play and Ouzounidis’ men will begin a tough stretch of fixtures starting this weekend.
The Prasini will host their eternal enemies, Olympiacos, in Saturday’s Greek classico at the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium with hopes of grabbing a result that will boost the team’s morale for the difficult games ahead. After Saturday’s derby, Panathinaikos will end the first half of the season with matches against Asteras Tripolis (away), AEK (home), Atromitos (away), Panionios (home), PAOK (Away), and Xanthi (away).
