Panathinaikos reach deal with Al Ain for Berg
Panathinaikos and Al Ain have reached a deal for Marcus Berg’s move to the UAE and the official announcement is expected tomorrow.
Marcus Berg will be playing in the UAE next season after Panathinaikos and Al Ain have come to a deal for the Swede’s transfer. The deal will close at €3.3 million and Panathinaikos, who own a percentage of his rights, will receive €2.6 million from Berg’s move.
The two sides came to an agreement after Panathinaikos sent representatives to the UAE to finalize negotiations. The final amount is way under Panathinaikos’ original asking price of €5.5 million, however the deal will close higher than Al Ain’s original offer. Panathinaikos will receive €1 million up front, which will help the current cash flow crisis at the club, and the remaining amount in two doses before Christmas.
The official announcement is expected tomorrow bringing an end to this drawn out case with Marcus Berg signing a golden deal with his new side.
