Cameroon defender Jérôme Guihoata struck a late winner eight minutes from time to clinch all three points for Michalis Grigoriou’s team, who were made to work hard for their prize.

Panionios had earlier been pegged back by Clarck N'Sikulu’s strike for strugglers Platanias after
Srđan Spiridonović had previously given the Panthers a 29th-minute lead.

The result edged Panionios to within two points of fourth-placed Atromitos, who play Levadiakos on Sunday, while Platanias remain at the foot of the table with just six points - eight points adrift of safety.

Larissa 1 - 0 Xanthi
Krizman 90'+4'

Meanwhile in Larissa, the Vissini climbed up to seventh in the table after Sandi Krizman scored an added time winner to seal a 1-0 victory in a tight matchday 14 clash.

The 28-year-old Croatian forward Krizman netted in the fourth minute of added time to clinch three vital points in a match they had not looked like winning with Xanthi enjoying the better chances.

Xanthi’s Slovakian forward Erik Jendrišek was twice denied by the woodwork but Milan Rastavac’s team were hit with the late sucker punch.

While Larissa move up to seventh with 17 points as a result, Xanthi, who also have 17 points, slip to eighth on goal difference.
