On Thursday, Mauricio signed a 3-year contract with PAOK and the Brazilian will have annual earnings of €1.3 million, becoming the highest paid player at the club. Mauricio drew the attention of many European clubs during the summer’s transfer window, however he has decided to continue his career at PAOK. According to sources, the Thessalonikis have included a buyout clause in his contract that skyrockets up to €10 million.

Mauricio began his career with Brazilian side Fluminense in 2007 and made 52 appearances for the club with two goals scored. In 2009, he moved to Russia for Terek Grozny where he remained until 2016 before making a big career jump to Russian giants Zenit. Mauricio made his name known with Terek Grozny as he scored 29 goals in 169 appearances for the club.

Pedro Enrique will travel to Azerbaijan for Qarabag on a one year loan deal from the Thessalonikis. Enrique himself pursued a move to Qarabag which gives him the opportunity to play in this season’s Champions League. No further details of the deal were announced by either club.

Finally, PAOK are looking to finalize another impressive addition with Rubin Kazan defender Carlos Zambrano. However, the case is a complicated one which involves a one year loan deal to PAOK from the Russian side. Despite the fact that the deal appeared to be finalized, FIFA seem to have objections with the move.

The governing body of world football are currently reviewing all the paperwork of the deal in order to provide proof that the transfer window was still open when the transaction was finalized. The Thessalonikis have put blame on Rubin Kazan for any delays and have reported this to FIFA. If FIFA decide in favor of PAOK’s claims, Zambrano will officially join the club and wear the Aspromavro jersey for one season, on loan.
