According to sources, Stanojevic will be accompanied by an assistant coach, a match analyst, and a trainer of his own choice while the remainder of his technical team will be made up of Greeks. Stanojevic’s yearly pay could reach up to €1.2 million with bonuses.
The 43-year old has spent most of his coaching career at Partizan and was the youngest coach in the club’s history. Apart from winning two league championships and one Serbian Cup with Partizan, he also led the side to the Champions League group stages eliminating Pyunik, Helsinki and Anderlecht on the way. A year following his great success with PAOK’s “brother” club, Stanojevic and Partizan parted ways in a controversial decision that brought negative reactions from Partizan’s fans.
Apart from Partizan, Stanojevic has also worked as an assistant coach in Serbia’s youth national teams and in the rapidly evolving Chinese Super League with Beijing Enterprise at the end of 2016.
PAOK, who officially announced Stanojevic as the club's new coach on Friday, will officially present him in a press conference next week. The new boss will now concentrate his time in resolving any open matters at the club (roster, signings etc.) which will be discussed with the team’s administration as preseason training is set to begin in the coming days.
