PAOK become U20 Super League champions
To cap a perfect weekend for PAOK, the club’s under 20 side defeated Levadiakos 4:2 at the Toumba Stadium to become Super League champions.
Requiring only a point to clinch the U20 Super League title, PAOK took to the field against Levadiakos in a determined mood, boosted by the support of 8,000 passionate fans at the Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki. Just to add some pressure, the club’s senior team attended the match, despite beating AEK Athens in the Greek Cup final on Saturday.
PAOK struggled to cope with the game’s importance in the first half, twice falling behind to Levadiakos. Nevertheless, the Dikefalos tou Vorra went into the break level at 2:2, with Ilya Markovskiy and Alexandros Gargalatzidis hitting the target.
The hosts took full charge in the second 45, scoring through Markovskiy and Giannis Michailidis to win 4:2 and become U20 Super League champions.
