PAOK crush Platanias to end season on a high
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 30
|PAOK||3 - 0||Platanias|
PAOK ended their SuperLeague campaign on a high note with a comfortable 3-0 home victory over relegated Platanias at the Toumba on Saturday, showing that they are in top form ahead of their final commitment of the season - the much-anticipated Greek Cup final against champions AEK on May 12.
It was another easy afternoon on their home turf for Razvan Lucescu’s Thessaloniki side, with the Black and Whites easily seeing off basement boys Platanias from Crete thanks to Dimitris Pelkas’ opener and another brace from record-breaking top scorer Aleksandar Prijovic.
Pelkas struck after nine minutes to put PAOK in front after a typically powerful start from the home side, with Prijovic doubling the advantage six minutes later to effectively end the game as a contest.
The tempo of the match dropped in the second half but there was still time for Serbian marksman Prijovic to get his second of the night - and his 19th league goal of what has been an incredible season.
Having already secured second place ahead of this matchday 30 encounter, PAOK will join AEK in the Champions League qualifiers next season.
