PAOK STAY ON PANIONIOS' HEELS
GREEK SUPERLEAGUE - MATCHDAY 26
|PAOK||2 - 0||Larissa|
PAOK recorded a straightforward 2-0 home win over Larissa on Sunday to stay in touch with second-placed Panionios as well as keep their slim hopes of pinching the SuperLeague title alive.
Goals from Spanish midfielder Jose Alberto Canas (37) and Stelios Kitsiou three minutes from full-time at the Toumba proved enough to see off a competitive Larissa side, who are still not yet out of the woods in terms of the battle to avoid relegation.
Vladan Ivic’s PAOK side were on top for long spells in this Matchday 26 clash and the three-point haul allows them to stay within two points of Panionios and eight behind league leaders Olympiacos with just four matches to go.
Larissa will need to improve in their final clutch of matches as they remain unmoved in 12th spot, just five points clear of the relegation zone.
